Nazareth
Written by John Galantini
Call came through at three o clock The middle of the night So I left the house most hurriedly To catch an outbound flight Departure lounge was heaving So I just paced around When I got to my seat, I fell asleep, And I woke as we were touching down
Going down to Nazareth Going down that track Going down to Nazareth And I don’t know if I’m coming back
Made it through arrivals Picked up the morning call There was bad news on every page Nothing good at all Took my case to collect my keys They took my name and more I took one last look at where I was And where I’d been before
Going down to Nazareth Going down that track Going down to Nazareth And I don’t know if I’m coming back
When I get to Allentown I'll feel that midday sun And when I'm passing Bethlehem I’ll be wishing that I hadn’t come Up along the interstate In a beat up rental car And if I get to Saylorsburg Then I’ll know that I'll have gone too far
Going down to Nazareth Going down that track Going down to Nazareth And I don’t know if I’m coming back
